Gabe Logic Song: Pooff Jah Majk Dragawne
Instrumentation by Gabe Cowan
Vocals by Clare Schlaudt and Gabe Cowan
Mixing by Gabe Cowan (and a little help from my friend who should be a music major)
In this song, I created three sections that didn’t really fit each other. I tried my best to blend them. I know, it’s a slightly ridiculous song, but I think it turned out alright. It has a rock/EDM/super weird Lord Of The Rings vibe.
Lyrics:
Ladies and gentlemen
Are you ready?
To
BREATHEEE mutha’fuckin FIREEEEE
We goin take a journey
Across both space and time
We will delve into the deepest caverns of
Your magnificent monstrous mind
And discover a place
Both so hidden and deep
That your worst fears
Run screaming
You won’t make a peep
SHH
It started like this
I went to take a piss
Found myself in a hole
Burned up scaley
covered in gold
Oh Shiney
Puff the magic dragon is my motha’fuckin name
The destruction of the patriarchy
the name of the nigga-ass game
I’m goin strong
Gonna catch my fame
Face like mick jagger
Legolas ass mane
Flyin through the night
Lighting cities bright
Hushing out the candles
Weeding out the vandals
Takin puffs
Of my J
Oy vey
Legalization every day
Human rights every way
Support the queer
And love the gay
Environmental sustainability.
Love jah earth mother
there is no other
More then sista, brudder
They all pass away
But we all need eachother
The votes we will sway
Protect the eternal sunshine
Of our spotless minds
On our spotted land
Oh wait our squatted land
(message)
(Misty mountains verse)
Far over the smokey mountains stoned
To dangerous deep and herbs crusty old
We must stoner sloth at break of day
To seek the purple enchanted gold
So Gone – By Carmen Liliana
(Creating a new post because in the last one, my song wasn’t working.)
Hey Everyone! Here is my song. I really was feeling jazzy-ish one day and decided to add that into my song. I sat through hours of searching and youtubeing how to do things in logic. I have learned SO much about logic while working on this song! The hardest part had to be the vocals, recording, and mixing to get the best possible sound. I cut out as much inhalation as possible, added EQ, compressor, reverb, and some cool vocal effects. I did not get it perfect, but I am hoping to continue perfecting the song. I am really bad at making beats so that had to be the second worst thing. The lyrics were me testing some waters. I don’t normally write like that, but I really wanted to try something new and see what kind of message I could create.
Eric Shaw’s Logic Song – Easy Living
This is just something I came up with using Logic Pro. I wanted to focus more on experimenting with the different options in Logic to see what I could come up with. I didn’t put too much time into the lyrics, I was more interested in seeing how my voice sounds when its recorded. I see this track as maybe just a quick intro or interlude if I were to have an album.
Quinn Ogden Logic Song – No Johns
Thanks to my roommate Zach for the great lyrics and vocals.
Lyrics:
Verse 1:
We fist bump now we’re starting to play, you pick fox i’m pickin puff what else is there to say, I got bairs for days, take yo ass off stage, wall of pain until you dead, I ain’t got time to play, on to the next stock, drill upsmash at this point you merely getting outclassed, then you start talkin shit, sayin how you all sick, and how you’ve been busy n haven’t played in a brick, now it’s a last stock situation, shout out to the hbox puff nation, now ya wave dashin running, you know if I get the grab its fucking doneen, you see me comin, ya tryna think of something, now ya heart gets to beating n bumpin, I think you just went from the hunter to the hunted, but there’s only one way this’ll end you see, short hop up tilt, down B.
Chorus:
Its called johns when you’re making excuses, it dont matter when you’re ending with bruises, we both know its not the CRT or the way you see you just gotta play like me there’s no johns
Verse 2:
Every time we play you just be yakkin, and I gotta tell ya man your mentality is tragic,my fingers so magic, muscle memory habits, your play style is messy let me get you a napkin, now every time that you whine or complain, just pause a second and please access your brain, It’s ain’t the controller, it ain’t the CRT, I’m sayin, with this many johns man you should be playin, that’s why when I beat you I pop off like I’m a super sayin, and this venom I’m spraying is so needed, cuz every time we sit down to play, before we even start you’re already defeated, it’s kinda dumb really, why challenge me of ya games based off self pity, a bit shitty buddy, but at the end of the day it’s kinda funny, when I think about you I think easy money.
Chorus
Verse 3:
Hold up wait a minute, I just four stocked this dude and he said he wasn’t payin attention, but uh bro it was your counter pick, that means you pressed start, I can’t take take this shit, I’m calling out all players that be using John, time to put down the controller and get to moving on, you think I’m joking but I’m super cereal, you’re worse than a kicker that misses the game winning field goal, so it’s time ya float along now, live ya life with no johns now, so what have learned today, you gotta hold that L if ya willing to play, it’s okay to be tilted just not beyond, if ya true to the melee then it’s no Johns.
Chorus
Katie’s Logic Song
After failing miserably at executing an original piece, I covered Adele’s “Someone Like You” as well as I could with the MIDI piano. I have a very soft singing voice, so I experienced some challenges with volume, gain, and distortion, but I had a lot of fun playing with the pitch and vibrato in Flex. The MIDI piano isn’t extremely realistic, but I shifted some of the audio effects to try and account for that. I almost used a clean preamp on my vocals, but ended up leaving it off to avoid any further complications. I feel like learned a lot more about how to use the features Logic has to offer, but I don’t think I did Adele justice. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Lyrics:
I heard that you’re settled down
That you found a girl and you’re married now.
I heard that your dreams came true.
Guess she gave you things I didn’t give to you.
Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain’t like you to hold back or hide from the light.
I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn’t stay away, I couldn’t fight it.
I had hoped you’d see my face and that you’d be reminded
That for me it isn’t over.
Never mind, I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don’t forget me, I beg
I’ll remember you said,
“Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead”
You know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days
I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn’t stay away, I couldn’t fight it.
I’d hoped you’d see my face and that you’d be reminded
That for me it isn’t over.
Never mind, I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you two
Don’t forget me, I beg, I remember you said Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead, yeah
Nothing compares
No worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes
They are memories made.
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?
Never mind, I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you
Don’t forget me, I beg
I’ll remember you said,
“Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead”.
Never mind, I’ll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don’t forget me, I beg
I’ll remember you said,
“Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead.”
Aaron Dyke’s Logic song
Here is my logic song. I changed the vocals track on November 8th because I wasn’t happy with the way it sounded. I added the new and old vocals to show the difference.
Updated vocals
Old vocals (decided were way too robot sounding for the feel of the song)
Lyrics:
Imagine a bright sunny day,
One that does not go away,
we must fight to make this real,
we must fight for how we feel.
Can’t let this day go away,
but the storm is coming I must say.
Imagine a bright sunny day.
Imagine the people that will take it away.
When the storm hits you know its time.
When the storm hits you know its time,
gotta make some changes.
When the storm hits you know its time,
it can’t be the same it’s,
gonna change, you gotta change,
gonna make you better.
You just have to put the time into it.
It will work out and come together.
Imagine a bright sunny day,
One that does not go away,
we must fight to make this real,
we must fight for how we feel.
Can’t let this day go away,
but the storm is coming I must say.
Imagine a bright sunny day.
Imagine the people that will take it away.

I truly enjoyed doing this project because composition has always been really fun for me. I have prior experience composing and recording my music, however, this time was different because I was provided with more assets to help me (Logic Pro).
“I Can’t Sleep”
It’s 2 AM, and I’m still awake and lying in bed
Need to sleep, cause I’m busy all day, and the next day
Be up at 8, got work to do and I can’t sleep in
Need to be, free this weekend, to see my friends
I can’t sleep, and it’s bothering me till the morning
I can’t sleep, and it’s keeping me up and it’s boring
It’s 3 AM, and I’m still awake and lying in bed
I won’t sleep, cause it doesn’t feel like I really need it
I’m up at 3, got work to do and I won’t sleep in
I will be, free this weekend, to see my friends
I can’t sleep, and it’s bothering me till the morning
I can’t sleep, and it’s keeping me up and it’s boring
It’s 4 AM, and I see things just in the darkness
I won’t sleep, cause they’re standing by the edge my bed
I’m up at 4, I’m seeing things but I won’t sleep in
I will be, free this weekend, to see my friends
I can’t sleep, and it’s bothering me till the morning
I can’t sleep, and it’s keeping me up and it’s boring
I can’t sleep, and I’m pretty sure that I’m not dreaming
I can’t sleep, and I realized this whole time I’ve been sleeping
Emily Sawyer Logic Song
I really enjoyed this project because I have always wanted to get into composition, but have never really gotten around to seriously writing anything yet. So the opportunity to create my first song was exciting! I wrote the lyrics and did all the music myself.
Crimson and Gold Lyrics:
I watch the leaves fall to the ground
Crimson and gold, remnants of the year that’s gone
As they drift on down so does my mind
Back to the way things once were
My heart glowed crimson, my smile golden
You always said I was worth, worth the wait
When life grew frenzied, my heart uncertain
You showed me I was worth, worth a fight
Then like the autumn leaves which drift and die
Suddenly we fell, we were crashing to the ground
What once burned vibrant with life and colors so bright
Faded into lifeless brown
You always said I was worth the wait, but
Now I’m waiting for you, would you show me its true
You always said I was worth a fight, but
Now I’m fighting to see, to see your smile
My hurt burned crimson, my pain seared golden
But you showed me we were worth, we were worth the wait
I will wait for you
And I’ll fight for this
And like the springtime leaves, which burst forth with life
I know we’ll come forth, into a future bright as gold
Mary Hopkin’s Logic Song
Time by Mary Hopkin
I wrote the lyrics to this original song, and sang lead vocals on it as well.
Special thanks to Anna King for playing guitar and singing background vocals, and to Jonathan Strong for playing piano and drums on this song for me.
Time
Verse 1
I was the best friend I thought you never saw
In that way, until you did
Turns out you did
They say timing is everything
Well our timing’s not the best
Pre-chorus
I had a boyfriend,
And you had a girlfriend
But that didn’t stop us…
And well I think you know the rest
Chorus
There was that night
In your car
And those three days
In your room
There’s no right time to say it
But I’m in love with you
And I will wait
But not quietly
But I can wait now that you know
I’ll wait until there’s time for us
One more thing before you go-
I hope you know you are my everything
And that won’t change with time
Verse 2
We’ve talked just once since we moved away
One twelve minute talk
While you were on your way to class
That ended with an awkward, shaky, unsteady, unsettling, ‘I love you’
That you met with a bashful and unsteady laugh
And a quick
‘love you too’ click
Chorus
There was that night
In your car
And those three days
In your room
There’s no right time to say it
But I’m in love with you
And I will wait
But not quietly
But I can wait now that you know
I’ll wait until there’s time for us
One more thing before you go-
I hope you know you are my everything
And that won’t change with time
Bridge
You were my best friend, my everything, my entire universe
How does it feel to be someone’s everything
Do you even know you are my everything?
You know I feel so safe with you
Tell me why I feel so safe with you
We were so close, but now we’re far too far away
Chorus
There was that night
In your car
And those three days
In your room
There’s no right time to say it
But I’m in love with you
And I will wait
But not quietly
But I can wait now that you know
I’ll wait until there’s time for us
One more thing before you go-
I hope you know you are my everything
And that won’t change with time
